What is a “database-driven” web site and how does it work?
These sites rely on a database to store the site’s content, keeping it separate from the HTML code that governs how the page is displayed in a web browser. When a visitor opens the site or clicks on an internal link, the software retrieves the content information from the database, formats it, and sends it to the browser “on the fly”.
