What is a decision engine?
A Decision Engine is a search engine that seeks to give the searcher alot more than just traditional and expected results. Normally, when people search using engines like Google or Yahoo or Live Search by Microsoft, they type in the parameters which will filter out all web pages on the Internet that do not apply to those parameters. So, the engine will show those web pages that abide within the designated parameters. So, essentially, you will discover web pages that contain the words specified in the search box. These words are often known as tags, and webmasters use tags so that their page will be found when you search. This is the traditional web search approach. A Decision Engine goes beyond this. It seeks to guess at exactly what it is you really want. So, even though you typed in two keywords, like taxi and miami, for example, you are not just seeking web pages that contain these words. Honestly the Google-search-engine does its job very well, it even has market shares of 70% (and more in some countries), and in that respet it’s hard to change your habits.
