Deep well jet pumps are a form of well pump which fill an important niche in today’s market. The standard shallow well jet pump is by far the cheapest of the residential well pumps, but it can pull water from no more than 25 feet below ground. On the other hand, heavy duty submersible water pumps can pull water from as far down as 400 feet, but they are very expensive and often designed for commercial use rather than home. Deep well jet pumps fit right in the middle, capable of pulling water from over 100 feet below ground with only a slightly higher cost of installation than their shallow well counterparts.
