• A Family Physician is a doctor who specializes in treating the entire family. They provide care to everyone in the family from newborns to seniors. They complete three years of medical school education followed by three years of residency training. Upon completion of their training, they must take a rigorous exam to become board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Family Physicians are required to recertify every seven years by performing regular continuing medical education.  more
