What is a grantmaker?
Grantmakers are individuals or organizations that give monetary awards, known as grants, to nonprofits. Grantmaking refers to the practice of awarding this money, and grantmakers vary widely in size and scope, from large, national corporate giving programs to small, local family foundations. The terms “grantmakers” and “foundations” can, for the most part, be used interchangeably.
