The Expert Group on Vitamins and Minerals recommended Guidance Levels where there was some evidence, but not enough, to set a SUL. Guidance Levels suggest an amount of a vitamin or mineral that can be consumed daily throughout people’s lives without risk to health. Guidance levels were given for the following: biotin, folic acid, niacin, pantothenic acid, riboflavin, thiamin (vitamin B1), vitamin B12, vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin K, chromium, cobalt, iodine, manganese, molybdenum, tin, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium.
