What Is A Land And Coastal Resource Management Plan?

0

When completed, a Land and Coastal Resource Management Plan (LCRMP) will identify how resources should be managed and what uses should happen in which geographic areas. It will provide specific resource objectives to be considered for each area. The Central Coast is the first LCRMP in the province to deal with use and management of both coastal and land resources. Based on a formal agreement, the federal and provincialgovernments agreed to work together on strategic planning for the coastal nearshore through the LCRMP. This presents some unique challenges in integrating resource management objectives for two very different but interdependent environments the marine and the terrestrial.
