A Medicare Supplement insurance policy (also known as Medigap) is sold by private insurance companies to fill “gaps” in Original Medicare plan coverage. It’s a plan that helps pay your share of hospital and medical costs — your co-insurance, copays and deductibles. Medigap policies only work with the Original Medicare Plan and do not include any benefits not covered by Medicare (such as dental, eyeglasses or hearing aids).  more
