What is a mod chip for playstation2?
As I understand a mod chip is a chip installed on the board of your playstation so you can play copied games. At least for the WII the mod-chip goes on the dvd reader and puts the drive into a diagnostic mode so it doesn’t check for copy protection. To install the mod chip you have to know how to do fine electronic soldering. There people who sell and install mod chips I think it usually runs between 80-100 dollars. I have seen people advertise on craigslist.org . The down side is that if it fails you have fried your game system.
