The plants having only one cotyledons are known as monocotyledons plants.Let us see the structure of leaf present in monocot.The leaves are simple,sessile and alternate.Leaf blade [lamina]is long,lanceolate with acute apex.Surface is rough and hairy.Venation is multicostate and parallel,but with a very well developed mid-rib.Leaf base is long and sheathing.There in a short membraneous ligule at the junction of sheathing base and the lamina.FOR EX-Jowar,Wheat,Maize.etc.
