What is a PDS Tornado Watch?
From the SPC: The “particularly dangerous situation” wording is used in rare situations when long-lived, strong and violent tornadoes are possible. This enhanced wording may also accompany severe thunderstorm watches for exceptionally intense and well organized convective wind storms. That definition speaks for itself. If you live in eastern North Carolina, please be vigilant of the changing weather and stay alert for tornado warnings during the overnight hours. We are much more vulnerable to nocturnal tornadoes due to poor visibility and alerts that fall on deaf ears – or more appropriate, the sleeping public.
