What is a platform? Why are there different types?

A platform refers to the type of software your course is written in. OntarioLearn currently uses three different platforms that were chosen to best suit each particular course. It’s important to know which one your course is written in, in the event that you may take more than one course at a time or from term to term. Knowing the platform can help avoid confusion. The platforms are: FirstClass, Blackboard CE, Blackboard, Angel and Moodle.
