As a part of the much larger plastic bag family, our polyethylene is one of the most widely used resins for making plastic bags. Usually defined as a type of flexible packaging container made of thin, flexible, plastic film, plastic bags are used for holding, transporting and protecting tires, garments, mattresses, foods, powders, sand, soil, ice, chemicals, waste, etc. Derived from ethylene gas, polyethylene can be made using addition polymerization in low or high pressure processes which are typically defined according to their density. As an alternative to using cardboard, wood or some other material, polyethylene bags have revolutionized the packaging industry.
