What is a printer profile?
A. Printer profiles are always of the type that consists of a series of 1D and 3D look-up tables. Printer profiles translate between the PCS and the printer colour space. This can be either CMYK or RGB. In the latter case the printer driver handles the conversion from RGB to the actual colorants (normally CMYK) in their driver. For full details of the structure, required tags and processing model, see the ICC profile specification .
