Radiological or radiologic technicians operate and maintain medical X-ray equipment. Radiological technicians prepare patients for X-rays by keeping them calm, prepare the equipment to protect patients from radiation, and develop the X-ray images for physicians. According to Careers.org, radiological technicians generally earned between $39,840 and $57,940 in 2006. The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects employment in this field to rise by 15 percent by the year 2016.
