What is a saftey stand down?
We know that during the winter months you generally don’t take the time to look over your rig and do maintenence as often. This creates alot of overlooked deficiencies. Summers are the hardest driving months on our trucks so we would like you to check those things that get over looked. We would like our drivers to take a day off (usually in conjunction with a weekend) and take an extra look at thier trucks and take care of those little things that have been neglected or overlooked and fix those nit-picky things the DOT likes to hound us about. We like to do this before the national road check that is in June this year. We can’t make you do this but prefer that you do.
