What is a Sai Dagger and how is it used?
Oh Christ on a bike!!!!! I really cant believe some of the answers on here!!! Sai are a pair of weapons used in Karate and originating in Okinawa, Japan (although there are suggestions that earlier forms were used in China). They have rounded shafts with two prongs coming out either sides which were used to catch swords, (often whilst allowing the other sai to break the blade with a blow). In attack the shafts are generally used as truncheons, and are capable of heavy damage in terms of blunt force trauma, or the handles as extensions of the fist when reversed. In defense the shaft is used against the forearm when blocking or as I said before used to deflect weapons blows and then catch that weapon inside the prongs – which were also used as hand guards. They are very difficult to master, and also one of my favourite weapons!
