What is a Sunrise Review?
In Washington State, the Department of Health makes recommendations to the legislature on proposals to create a new health profession or significantly change an existing profession. This is done only at the request of the chairs of legislative committees, usually the House Health Care Committee or Senate Health and Long Term Care Committee. The process is called a sunrise review.
