What is a Toastmasters Club?
A Toastmasters Club is first a SPEECH CLUB, where members help each other learn the art of public speaking by practicing with their peers. Member achievements are recognized by Toastmasters International and many other businesses organizations. Club members also learn LEADERSHIP SKILLS while developing speaking skills. The club provides a supportive environment to promote personal growth. How does it work? At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. A typical club is made up by 20 – 30 people who meet once a week for about an hour. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice speaking, listening and thinking skills. What levels of certifications can be earned? Members can earn the Competent Communicator (CC) designation by delivering 10 speeches according to the Competent Communication Program manual.
