Vents protrude from every roof. Sewer gases are emitted from your home and vents are therefore important to your plumbing system. Air has to follow the liquid substance when traveling down a pipe. Without vent pipes, the drain liquid would suck air from the traps on plumbing fixtures, leading to a diffusion of unpleasant odors in the home.  more
