What is a Voltage Regulator (Voltage Stabilizer)?

0

A Voltage Regulator is a device able to take the AC Line voltage and make it higher or lower in order to fit your PC electrical requirements. This means an AVR can either increase AC Line voltage when it is too low or reduce it if it is too high so AC line Voltage can always be appropriate for your PC or any other electric equipment. These regulating operations make possible and safe for your computer to operate in an electric hostile environment. When AC Line is out of the Regulation Range (the range where the Regulator can make the line voltage suitable for PC’s and other equipments) the regulator shuts down your PC or any equipment connected to it but keeps supervising the AC Line to restart your PC as soon as the power failure disappears. Most of Voltage Regulators include surge suppression.
