A wedding planner is a professional event coordinator hired by an engaged couple to coordinate and manage some or all aspects of the wedding. The planner will meet with the couple beforehand to help advise the decisionmakers and plan parts of the wedding, including helping to find a venue, hiring the right vendors, consulting on dress colors, flower choices and catering, and handling all payments. Usually, the wedding planner is hired to help alleviate some of the stress of wedding planning so that the bride, groom and their families can enjoy the wedding day without having to worry too much about the coordination of the event.
