What is Additive Manufacturing?

Additive manufacturing is the official industry standard term (ASTM F2792) for all applications of the technology. It is the process of joining materials to make objects from 3D model data, usually layer upon layer, as opposed to subtractive manufacturing methodologies. In other words, it is a process, where that digital 3D design data is used to build up a component in layers by depositing material. For example, Instead of milling a workpiece from a solid block, additive manufacturing builds up components layer by layer using materials that are available in fine powder form.

When your legs don’t work like they used to before and I can’t sweep you off of your feet, will your mouth still remember the taste of my love? Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks?
