What is an Assisted Living Facility (ALF)?
An assisted living facility (ALF) such as Arden Courts of Fort Myers provides housing, meals, and one or more personal services for seniors who are not related to the facility’s owners. A person can become a senior resident of an assisted living facility (ALF) only if certain functional criteria are met, such as being able to perform the activities of daily living (with supervision or assistance) like eating, walking and toileting. A resident cannot be bedridden, cannot require 24-hour nursing supervision, cannot have stage 3 or 4 pressure sores, and other criteria as described in Florida law.
