What is an Electronic Note Taker (ENT)?

0

At the University we can provide students with an electronic note taker who will accompany them to lectures and tutorials in order to make personalised notes via an ‘Alpha Smart’. Alpha Smarts are similar to laptops and allow the support worker to type student’s notes electronically, which are then made available to the student via disc or email. These notes will be provided to the student within 48 hours following their lectures. The information captured during lectures and tutorials via the electronic note taker can be structured to ensure that they encapsulate the relevant information students require and are therefore personalised to meet the student’s needs. Eligibility for this type of support is either identified via a specialised report or by one of our Disability Advisers.
