What is an embedded Pentium processor module?
The module is a small, highly integrated product designed to provide customers with an easy to use building block for high performance embedded applications. Intel’s modules are designed to minimize the customers’ development efforts and facilitate quick time to market. The module design integrates the high-speed interface between the Pentium processor, L2 cache and the 82439HX system controller. The PIIX3 (PCI ISA IDE Xcelerator) is a separate component required to complete the platform. The Embedded Intel Architecture division is announcing the discontinuance of the Intel® embedded Pentium processor modules. Both the 133 MHz and 166 MHz modules have been discontinued and will be unavailable for additional orders after the Last Product Discontinuance Order Date.
