What is an emotional block?
An emotional block occurs when a person consciously or subconsciously decides not to deal with the emotions that arise from a negative experience. Some methods of blocking unpleasant experiences are through suppression, shutting down, ignoring the experience, forgetting what happened, avoidance, and many others. These temporarily provide relief but the emotional blocks can build up and cause emotional baggage if the experience is not processed properly.
