Dear Dark Knight, Archimedes discovered how the principle of ‘buoyancy’ worked, and he wrote the principle thusly: a body immersed in a fluid is subject to an upward force equal to the weight of fluid the body displaces. He is reputed to have been in his bath when he noticed the movement of the water, and have yelled ‘Eureka (I’ve found it). Here are some google links for you to check out.
