Archive allows you to move an entry out of the active area into the archive area. Once archived it can later be activated (moved back to the active area) if the need arises. You might archive an item if there was information in the entry that you think may be useable in the future. Archive is available on all of the database selections.

An example of when you might use archive is when a calendar item has passed and is no longer relevant.
