What IS Baldurs Gate II?
Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn is a role playing game based on mostly 2nd edition and some 3rd edition D&D rules. While it is a follow up to the original Baldur’s Gate I game, and even lets you import your Baldur’s Gate I (BG1) character, it is by no means necessary to ever have played BG1. Baldur’s Gate II can definitely stand on its own — anything you need to know from BG1 the game fills you in on. The one I am reviewing is the PC version, but they made this for Mac systems as well. It uses 4 CD-ROMs for the basic game. Tell me little about the gameplay, what is involved with it? The view of the world is isometric (bird’s eye view). You can have 640×480 or 800×600 resolutions officially, but many have successfully run it on higher resolution. Only thing to remember about this is that if you go higher and game slows down, you system needs lower resolution. * You have one area for Journal. This is well done, it has always given me the details I needed, and also can be sorted by date
