Yes, plastic tubs are better than a glass aquarium with a screen lid for holding heat and humidity. Sterilite bins are a popular choice, are cheap, easy to clean, and are available at Walmart. I use a soldering iron to melt holes in the sides. This is better than drilling them since that can leave sharp edges and crack the bins. Heat pads or heat tape hooked to a rheostat or thermostat works great for heating them. The only benefit to a glass aquarium is that they make a better display.
