What is C quota share? How does this relate to Class A and B IFQ?

0

There are four types of harvesting Quota Share (QS); two are “C” or “Crew” share types, issued to persons who historically held CFEC crab permits, and signed fish tickets for qualifying landings. The other two are “Owner” or “O” types of QS, issued to persons who held License Limitation Program (LLP) permits and had qualifying landings. None of the crew QS, and only some of the Owner QS results in annual IFQ that is Class A or Class B annual IFQ. Therefore, “C” or “Crew” IFQ is considered Class “U” and may be delivered to any Registered Crab Receiver. For “O” or “Owner” IFQ, Class A IFQ can only be delivered to a Registered Crab Receiver who has sufficient annual IPQ pounds to receive that amount of Class A IFQ. Class B IFQ may be delivered to any Registered Crab Receiver. Note: for crab processed at sea, the vessel owner or operator is the RCR who “receives” the crab and is responsible for reporting.
