What is CalWORKs Work Study (CWS)?
CalWORKs Work Study provides employment opportunities to parents with dependent children while they prepare to enter or reenter the job market. Jobs may be on campus or in the community. Prior authorization is required for participation in CalWORKs Work Study. If you believe you are eligible, please mention it to a staff member at your referral appointment. Student Payroll for On Campus, Federal Work Study (FWS) and CalWORKs Work Study (CWS)If you are hired to work on campus and/or through the FWS or CWS programs, the JPCS staff will: • Assist you to establish a payroll file • Ask you to verify your right to work in the United States and your social security account number • Process and retain payroll documentation for each student working on campus or at an approved off campus location for the Federal Work Study and CalWORKs Work Study programs • Provide state required safety training • Accept time sheets at the end of each pay period and process for payment • Answer any questions per
