What is Carcinoma of the Breast?
Also called: Breast Cancer, Carcinoma of Breast, Cancer Breast Breast cancer cases, also known as Cancer Breast and Carcinoma of Breast are on the rise and one in eight women suffers from it. Breast cancer tops the list in all the cancer deaths in the United States. The exact cause of Carcinoma of Breast is not known but a number of causes have been identified which can precipitate Breast cancer. These include “age, genes, personal factors, overweight, hormone replacement therapy, birth control pills, drinking alcohol, late pregnancy etc”. All these factors singly or in combination can precipitate Breast Cancer. Symptoms of Breast cancer may include a lump in the breast, a change in size or shape of the breast or discharge from a nipple. Breast self-exam and mammography can help find Breast cancer early when it is most treatable. Treatment may consist of radiation, lumpectomy, mastectomy, and chemotherapy and hormone therapy.
