WHAT IS COACHING?

0

Coaching is an interactive process that helps individuals and organizations develop more rapidly and produce more satisfying results. Coaches work with clients in all areas including business, career, finances, health and relationships. As a result of coaching, clients set better goals, take more action, make better decisions, and more fully use their natural strengths. Professional coaches are trained to listen and observe, to customize their approach to the individual client’s needs, and to elicit solutions and strategies from the client. They believe that the client is naturally creative and resourceful and that the coach’s job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that the client already has. While the coach provides feedback and an objective perspective, the client is responsible for taking the steps to produce the results he or she desires. Coaching is quickly becoming one of the leading tools that successful people use to live extraordinary lives

“Professional coaching is an ongoing partnership that helps clients produce fulfilling results in their personal and professional lives. Through the process of coaching, clients deepen their learning, improve their performance, and enhance their quality of life. In each meeting, the client chooses the focus of the conversation, while the coach listens and contributes observations and questions. This interaction creates clarity and moves the client into action. Coaching accelerates the client’s progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice. Coaching concentrates on where clients are today and what they are willing to do to get where they want to be tomorrow.

Coaching is the facilitation of growth and change. The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching this way: Coaching is an ongoing relationship which focuses on clients taking action toward the realization of their visions, goals or desires. Coaching uses a process of inquiry and personal discovery to build the client’s level of awareness and responsibility and provides the client with structure, support and feedback. The coaching process helps clients both define and achieve professional and personal goals faster and with more ease than would be possible otherwise.

• Coaching can drastically improve your performance in any given area of your life by exploring where you are now, where you want to be in the future and how to get you there. • In a basic sense, this is achieved by your coach guiding you to set challenging yet achievable goals and plan actions that will lead to an accomplishment of these goals. • We provide honest but constructive feedback to help you realise your true capabilities and to achieve the outcomes you want.• We work wholly from your perspective, beliefs and cultural background, understand how you are motivated, what your strengths and weaknesses might be and seek to improve both.• With coaching you will gain clarity of what is stopping you from attaining the results you desire, question your current way of thinking and overcome those barriers. • We take a non-judgmental standpoint and provide 100% confidentiality; only in this kind of environment will you truly flourish. • We firmly believe that people are naturally highly

My role as a coach is to help you find out what you want in your life, assist you in exploring ways of reaching those goals, and giving support and encouragement as you put your plans into action. As an NLP Coach I can also help you identify and change limiting beliefs, behaviours and thought patterns that may hold you back. Coaching is different from consulting or therapy: A consultant is an expert paid to offer advice. As a coach I am not an expert in how to run your life – you are! I will help you find your own answers by asking tough questions and getting you to look at your situation in new ways. I may offer suggestions and exercises from time to time, but they are just that – suggestions. If you feel they are not right for you then say so, and we can work out something that is more appropriate for your needs. Therapy is based on the assumption that there is something wrong with you that needs fixing. Most therapies examine your past to find out what went wrong, in order to ‘fix’
