What is compostable paper?
Examples of compostable paper include: • tissue • paper towels • napkins • paper towel rolls • toilet paper rolls • newspapers • flyers • sugar bags • potato bag (remove mesh from front of bag) • waxed paper • receipts • note paper • fast food paper bags • fast food paper cups and containers • brown paper bags Compostable papers will not contain foil, plastic or staples. To determine whether paper products are compostable and can go into the GreenCart — give them a rip. If the paper product is difficult to rip, or if there is visible plastic or metallic lining, it can’t go in the GreenCart.
