WHAT IS COMPREHENSIBILITY TESTING AND HOW DOES IT FACILITATE GHS CAPACITY BUILDING?
Comprehensibility testing is a survey based tool for assessment GHS awareness and understanding amongst the public. It has an important and valuable role at various stages in the process of developing and implementing a National GHS Implementation Strategy. It has multiple objectives and should be utilized to meet to achieve identified national needs. These include inter alia: • Informing the development of the situation and gap analysis and therefore sectoral implementation plans and identification of the measures needed to ensure the information provided is effective in promoting safe chemical use. • Understanding what awareness raising instruments are necessary, • Use as an awareness raising and training tool.
