Hazardous waste is any items that will damage the environment if improperly disposed. Chemicals poured down the drain pollute drinking water and contaminate septic tanks or wastewater treatment systems. When put into the trash, some chemical waste can cause injury to sanitation workers. These items include but are not limited to: paint, motor oil, gasoline, propane tanks, antifreeze, car batteries, household batteries (including rechargeable), lawn chemicals, pesticides, fluorescent light bulbs, aerosol cans, and pool chemicals. Please use designated collection locations to dispose of household hazardous materials.
