When doing normal mission work (brigades, construction, VBS, etc.) jeans or cargo pants, etc. are fine. T-shirts are fine (scrubs for brigades), with no controversial signage on the shirts (tobacco, alcohol, cursing, etc.). Dresses are not necessary for women on those days. No tank tops, or revealing clothing. Basically, the motto is: dress conservatively. Shorts are only allowed when relaxing at the mission house, traveling (back to the US or down from the US) or on the occasion your group has a free day.
