What is different about CHR’s Egg Donation program?
Aside from the program’s exceptional pregnancy rates (see above), CHR’s program is very different in its philosophy about egg donor selection: In contrast to most other IVF programs that offer egg donation, CHR, except in the Chinese community, does not advertise for egg donors. Applicants have to find CHR, not the other way around! Still, CHR, likely, offers the largest, and most diverse, egg donor pool anywhere in the world. The principal reason for this is simple: we put our money where our mouth is! In order to be able to offer not only a very large but also a very diverse and well selected pool, CHR on an ongoing basis invests considerable sums in donor screening. This is costly in staff time and in laboratory testing expenses, and most IVF programs, therefore, don’t want to do it.
