What is different about MICR Toner?
MICR stands for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition. It’s a special type of toner which is magnetized and read electronically by special readers to acquire sensitive information from the printed material. MICR toner is similar to standard laser printer toner, but requires a 50% to 60% iron oxide additive content that permits the “bank line” information of a check to be read by electronic bank processing equipment. Specific laser printers are designed to use MICR toner and it’s most frequently used for checks and other financial documents. Visit TheOfficeGuide.com for more information on Office Supplies.
