What is different for customers receiving other working age benefits?
Customers living in one of the selected postcodes, aged between 18 and 60, and receiving: • Income Support; or • Incapacity Benefit (have made a new or repeat claims on or after 26 April 2004) • are required to attend work-focused interviews, usually at quarterly intervals, with a personal adviser. • If customers receive additional benefit in respect of a partner and are claiming: • Jobseekers Allowance (Income Based); • Income Support; • Incapacity Benefit; or • Severe Disablement Allowance their partner is also required to attend work-focused interviews. Why are the Work Focused Interviews (WFIs) for benefit customers and their partners compulsory? Evaluation has shown that regular contact with Jobcentre Plus through periodic compulsory WFIs have been effective in informing customers about the wide range of help and support available to them.
