What is Exempt, Expedited, and Full Board Review?
There are three types of IRB review (Exempt, Expedited, and Full Board). Exempt: Under federal regulations, certain types of research may be exempt from Full Board IRB review if the study involves no more than “minimal risk” and falls into one or more of six categories.
