That $11/day covers your cabin attendant and your dining room staff. Only. Additional tips are not expected, but you’re free to give more if you’d like; generally, people do this in cash at the end of the cruise if they’ve received really good service. On my most recent cruise, our cabin was clean but we almost never saw our attendant; nothing “extra” was done so we didn’t add any extra tip. On other cruises, our attendants have been friendlier, more attentive, doing little extra things, so we have increased our tips. A 15% tip will be automatically added to everything you purchase from the bar. You can add more if you’d like. We went to the same bar every night and the bartender got to know us, and would make sure we had snacks; we tipped him extra. If you partake of spa services, you should tip your attendant just as you would at a land-based spa. There will be a line on the bill to add a tip.
