What is extinct and endangered animal?
Extinct is an animal that has been killed off or has died off as a species… completely. The Tasmanian Tiger (Thylacine), Dodo and the Carrier Pigeon are classic examples of artificially killed off species. Dinosaurs, Smilodon, etc are examples of extinction through more natural means. Endangered animals are animals that are in danger of becoming extinct, but haven’t yet. The Giant Panda, The American Timber Wolf (now making a comeback) are examples. The American Bald Eagle is a prime example of an animal that was endangered and was close to extinction that made a complete comeback. The ABE is now no longer an endangered species as there are healthy populations and plenty of habitat for them to live in. They are still protected, but it is prime proof that we can turn around the damage we’re doing and make things right.
