In a nutshell, the fast food industry. The movie characterizes the illegal aliens coming in from Mexico to work in the slaughterhouses (horrible places that practice even more horrible safety and sanitation). Through the dramatization, we follow the lives of several illegal aliens and experience their happiness and their terror. We follow the footsteps of the investigator sent to check out the meat packing plant that provides the burger for his boss’s restaurant chain. As a byproduct, the movie shows us how fast food is not only unhealthy, it is really disgusting. It shows us that the fast food industry is only interested in one thing; profits. It shows us that minimum wage workers may do the right thing – or they may do the wrong thing. The bottom line is that it reflects an industry that cares not about the consumer; it only cares about the consumers money.
