HIX flock is finely cut synthetic fibers measuring 0.5mm in length and 1.5 deiners in width about the diameter of fine silk. HIX uses an electrostatic process to create flock paper. The fibers pass through an electromagnetic charged field, and becomes electrostatically charged, which causes each fiber to stand up as it is drawn through the field to the adhesive coated paper which is grounded. One end of the fiber embeds itself into a thin layer of wet adhesive applied to the paper. This adhesive controls the release of the flock. The flock paper is then cured in a specially designed dryer and then cut into 20″ x 24″ sheets. After making the flock sheets, we then screenprint adhesive onto the sheets, making a design, letter, or number that we carry in stock. We can also make one-color custom artwork using a permanent water-base adhesive. This adhesive then bonds, to the substrate, using a heat press or iron. You will have a transfer that feels like velvet, after transferrin the flock de
