Fans believe that Fraser is reciting the poem that Victoria recited to him eight years before when they were caught in a snowstorm. Reciting the poem and listening to her recite it may have kept them both conscious and alive until the snowstorm passed. Given the theme of the episode, it is not unexpected that he would recite this poem as he is lying near death from a bullet wound. Literary members of the former DSOUTH-L list believe the poem to be "The Windhover" *. by Gerard Manley Hopkins (1845-1889). 25. In the episode "The Deal," did Fraser and Francesca sleep together?
