Pitch is a standard measure of the angle (slope) of the roof. It is expressed as “rise to run,” or inches of elevation for a running foot of length. For example, a pitch of 4/12 indicates a 4-inch rise from horizontal in a running foot of length. Gable brackets with sharp peaks have higher pitches (e.g., 12/12 as opposed to 4/12). We offer nine pitches: from 4/12 to 12/12. If your house is new or you have the plans the pitch will be identified.
