What is generational bondage?
Generational bondage is spiritual bondage that is passed on from parents to children to grandchildren. Such bondage is possible because God has said that it is possible. Exodus 34:6-7 (NIV) – “And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, ‘The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation. ‘ ” There are many similar verses to be found in the scriptures. No one who rebells against God’s word and deliberately continues in sin is exempt from the possibility of the curse of generational bondage.
